Navigating Trauma Responses in the Treatment Room
Your treatment room is one of the most intimate, vulnerable spaces your client will ever enter. What happens when that vulnerability triggers something deeper than skin?
Most esthetics training covers anatomy, chemistry, and technique. Almost none of it covers what happens when a client’s nervous system perceives a threat during a facial. Low lighting. Eyes closed. Lying down. Unfamiliar touch from someone standing above them. These conditions can mirror the dynamics of traumatic experiences — and most practitioners have no tools to recognize or respond when that happens.
You’ve already felt it in the room. The client who goes completely still in a way that doesn’t feel relaxed. The one who agrees to everything and leaves a glowing review — and never rebooks. The one who snaps at you about pressure that isn’t heavy. The one who makes an excuse to leave mid-service. You noticed. You just didn’t have language for what you were seeing.
This course gives you that language — and the tools to respond.
